A joint release by Mia Kat Empire & Murkville Music, “dog” LP was mastered at The Lodge, pre-released digitally December 7, 2010, and will release as 12-inch vinyl February 1, 2011. Like listenlisten’s 2009 full-length, “Hymns From Rhodesia”, this was recorded and mixed in a home studio. While “Hymns” was heavily concept inspired; “dog” has a focus on songs which stand alone, without need for the support of the full album. The songs are short, concise, and personal.
1. I rise 2. Ghost 3. I will forget 4. Try like hell 5. Deaf comes to everyone 6. Idle love
7. Ears are hearing 8. I will be mean 9. The time we almost died 10. Death is going home 11. Nothing

Since 2005 listenlisten has been touring nationally, performing on a handful of radio shows - including Day Trotter (not yet published) - released 2 full length albums, and a debut EP. 2009's “Hymns From Rhodesia” received great press despite an independent release with no distribution or PR. Rolling Stone called it “a spellbinding collection of country-gospel songs haunted by loneliness and loss.” And eMusic ranked it #39 in their Best 60 Albums of 2009 saying, “Gorgeous folk-rock ... the good kind of sad — a sympathetic voice to guide you through a crash-landing at the end of the world.”.
Over the past few years listenlisten has been fortunate enough to play as support for some of their favorite bands and musicians, including: Bower Birds, Phosphorescent, Daniel Johnston, The Dodos, Fog, Samamidon, The Donkeys, AU, Lymbyc Systym, Shapes and Sizes, Dark Dark Dark, The Baptist Generals, Picastro, Citay, Old Time Relijun, USA is a Monster, Sunburned hand of the Man, The Theater Fire, Why Are We Building Such a Big Ship?, Peter & the Wolf, and Yndi Halda
